Tracking an Interactive Brokers portfolio
IBKR's Activity Statement is a dense, many-sectioned file, and Sentryfolio reads it properly: full company names, correct identifiers, dividends and their withholding tax. Support was built the week our first tester arrived with one.
The file
One Activity Statement, longest range you can
From IBKR's reporting section, export a Default Activity Statement as CSV. The one setting that matters is the date range: choose since inception, or the longest span offered. A statement that starts mid-story can show sales of shares bought before its window, and no tracker can reconcile what the file never mentions.
Stocks and ETFs are imported. Options, futures and currency trades are politely set aside and noted, never mistaken for share purchases.
What the watch reads
Names, tickers, ticker changes
The statement carries each instrument's full name and identifier, so your holdings arrive properly labelled and price themselves from the first night. When a fund or company has changed its ticker over the years, IBKR lists both symbols against one identifier: Sentryfolio understands that as one instrument, so your history stays whole instead of splitting into a phantom.
Dividends and the tax withheld on them land separately in the income ledger, in the currency they arrived. Multiple currencies stay exactly what they are.
