Who and what
What Sentryfolio is
Sentryfolio is a privately operated, non-commercial portfolio calculator. It is not a company and sells nothing. Access to the terminal is free and, for now, by personal invitation from the operator only. The system is offered free of charge and supported only by occasional voluntary tips, which buy nothing (see Supporting Sentryfolio below). This website exists to describe the system and to host its user guide.
For data-protection purposes the controller is the private individual who operates Sentryfolio ("the operator"). You can contact the operator about anything in this notice, including any request about your own data, at support@sentryfolio.com. Invited users also hold direct contact details, and anyone else can use the invitation form; every message is read personally.
The most important section
Not financial advice
Sentryfolio is a mathematical calculator. It reports objective measurements: threshold breaches, parameters met, distances between numbers that its user chose. It does not and will not:
- provide financial, investment or tax advice of any kind;
- recommend buying, selling or holding any investment;
- suggest amounts, timings or the suitability of any decision;
- manage, or offer to manage, anyone's money.
Sentryfolio is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and nothing on this site or in the terminal is a financial promotion or an invitation to invest. Market prices, analyst targets and dividend figures are third-party estimates, fetched from public sources and cached; they can be wrong, stale or missing. The value of investments can fall as well as rise. Every decision, and full responsibility for it, remains with you.
The deal
Terms of use
By using this website or the terminal you accept these terms:
- Personal use only. Invited users may use the terminal to view calculations on data they themselves provided. Don't share your credentials, probe the system's security, or attempt to access anyone else's data.
- Provided as-is. Sentryfolio is an experimental personal system offered free of charge, with no warranty of accuracy, availability or fitness for any purpose. It may change or stop working at any time without notice.
- Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by the law of England and Wales, the operator accepts no liability for losses arising from use of, or inability to use, this system, including investment losses, which are yours alone. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- Content. The design, text and the beacon mark are the operator's. Don't reproduce them as your own.
- Changes. These terms may be updated; the date at the top of this page tells you when they last were. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
If you'd like to chip in
Supporting Sentryfolio
Sentryfolio is free to use, and that will not change. If you find it useful you are welcome to leave a small voluntary tip on our Ko-fi page (opens in a new tab), the "buy us a coffee" kind. You never have to, and whether you do or not makes no difference at all to your access or to anything the system does for you. These principles apply:
- A tip is a gift, not a purchase. It does not buy features, priority, extra support, influence, or anything else. Everyone receives exactly the same system, tip or no tip.
- Nothing is being sold, so no subscription or contract is created and there is nothing to refund. A tip, once given, is a gift; if one is sent by genuine mistake, ask and the operator will try to help through the tip platform.
- Your payment stays with the platform. Tips are handled by Ko-fi, and its payment processor Stripe, under their own terms and privacy policies. The operator never sees or stores your card details.
Sentryfolio is not a charity, and no tax relief such as Gift Aid applies to a tip.

Privacy notice
Visitors to this website
Browsing this public site puts nothing in your browser that watches you: no analytics scripts, no cookies, no advertising, no fingerprinting. Fonts and images are served from Sentryfolio's own server, so your visit is disclosed to no third party.
The server itself keeps two kinds of log. Standard, short-lived security logs (IP addresses of connection attempts) defend it against attacks. And since 18 July 2026 a standard access log records requests to this public site so the operator can see, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages are read. That log stays on Sentryfolio's own server, goes to no third party, is combined with nothing else, is deleted automatically after 30 days, and the operator's own reporting from it masks addresses. No profile of any visitor is built. The legal basis for both logs is legitimate interest: security, and understanding in aggregate whether this site is read.
Requesting an invitation
The one place you can hand this site personal data is the Request an invitation form, and it works like this:
- What is collected: only what you type: your name, email address, broker and message. The form also applies a short-lived technical limit on requests per network address, purely to stop abuse; those counters are held briefly in memory and never stored.
- Why: solely so the operator can read your request and reply. That is the whole purpose.
- Legal basis: your consent, given by pressing send; the request is processed at your initiative. You may withdraw it at any time by asking for your request to be deleted.
- Who sees it: the operator. Your message is emailed to the operator and also stored on the system's own server, so it can be read and answered in one place. It is never sold, shared, or added to any marketing list; there is no marketing list.
- How long: kept only until your request is answered and settled, then deleted; ask at any time and it is removed sooner, backups included, within 30 days.
Invited users of the terminal
If you are invited to use the terminal and upload broker files, then for that data:
- What is processed: the email address you register with, the holdings, transactions and income figures contained in the files you upload, and the settings you choose.
- Why: solely to calculate and display your own figures back to you, and to send you the reports you asked for. That is the whole purpose.
- Legal basis: the processing you ask for by registering and uploading (performance of what you've requested), under the UK GDPR and, where it applies, the EU GDPR.
- Who sees it: you, and the operator as the system's administrator. It is never sold, shared, or used for anything else. No advertising, no profiling, and no automated decision-making about you of any kind.
- Where it lives: on the system's own server in the EU (hosted in Germany), with nightly backup snapshots held in a restricted cloud store (see the helpers below).
- How long: until you ask for it to be removed. One message to the operator and your data is deleted, backups included, within 30 days.
Broker files sent in for format-building
If your broker isn't recognised yet, you may send an export so its format can be built in. What arrives (by email, carried by Resend) is used only to teach the importer that broker's file layout; it is deleted once the format is built and verified, and it is never used for anything else. All the rights below apply to it in the meantime.
The helpers this system relies on
Sentryfolio uses no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services (its only audience measurement is the server's own log, described above). It relies on the outside services below. The first four act only on the operator's instructions; Ko-fi and its payment processor Stripe apply only if you choose to send a tip, and handle that under their own terms:
- Netcup GmbH (Germany): hosts the server everything runs on. Data stays in the EU.
- Resend (a US email-delivery service): carries the system's outbound email: invitation-form messages on their way to the operator, and the daily reports sent to invited users. Transfers are covered by the UK's international data-transfer safeguards (the UK–US data bridge and standard contractual clauses).
- Hostinger (an EU email provider): runs the support@sentryfolio.com mailbox and forwards messages sent to it on to the operator. Replies to your message are sent from that address.
- Google Drive (Google, US): holds the nightly backup snapshots, which are encrypted on the server before upload: Google only ever receives ciphertext it cannot read, in a private store only the operator can access. The same transfer safeguards apply.
- Ko-fi (with its payment processor Stripe): runs the voluntary "buy us a coffee" tip page. This involves your data only if you choose to leave a tip; Ko-fi and Stripe then handle your name, message and payment under their own terms and privacy policies, and the operator never sees your card details.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR (and the EU GDPR where it applies) you may, at any time and free of charge, ask the operator for: access to a copy of your data; its correction; its erasure; restriction of what is done with it; a portable copy in a common format; and you may object to any processing based on legitimate interest, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis. Requests are answered within one month. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab). If you are in the EU or EEA, you may instead complain to the data-protection authority in your own country. Either way, the operator would appreciate the chance to fix things first.

Governing law
This site is operated from the United Kingdom. These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
